Crokinole is a board game, similar to shuffleboard, that requires dexterity. It was invented, most likely, in eastern Canada in the 19th century. It is still a rather unknown game in the United States, but is gaining in popularity. Sliding checkers across the playing surface by a flick of a finger, players gain points by being in, or closest to, the center hole.
A player may carom his checker off other checkers
and may knock his opponent's checkers out of the way or off the board. Bumper pegs which surround the 20-point hole can, also, be used to strategic advantage.
